Thats Not Nice Mother Nature

You had us fooled into thinking spring is here or just around the corner. Even my Digger plant has bloomed one big beautiful white bloom and another about ready to pop out. Sooo John and I had a little country competition going about that. He said if mine was blooming with all the plants he has on the east property there should be some blooming. Can you believe he drove over there to prove a point? Mine always bloom before your's I'm smirking. We finally found one with a tiny bud on it so he thinks he won. It was cold and drizzly and we are supposed to get some bad weather tonight and early in the morning so we went early to feed the cattle. Eleven calves on the ground and all frisky in the cool weather. It was so muddy on the tank dam I tried to feed at the oppsite end. Only one turtle swam over. I fed corn tortilla and the pieces would sink before the turtle could grab it. We stopped at the house and the man part of the renters met us at the porch with his longhorn blankie around him smoking his cigarrette. Boy Howdy! It's cooler then it has been. We're on to you Mother Nature.

It was 75 here in West TX about a week ago and I was delighted. This weekend it's cold, cloudy, and windy - - and even colder weather is expected next week.
No blossoms in sight!

YEP! Mother nature says, "Now tell me your plans, so I can smile".

But WE had a great day, nice here, so do not send it across the GULF.

Your turtles eat very well! Think the blooms will make it? I hope so.

I have read so many people wanting snow that I guess she decided to listen.

Thanks for stopping by. It is wonderful to hear about calves loving the cool weather. Sounds
like a good life. I love to hear
about the turtles. I don't know if
I told you but I am a member of the "Turtle Club" I did the greed.

I was just thinking that I hadn't heard from you in a few days and wondered if you were ok when your comment popped in. I'm so sorry about your blood condition. Isn't there anything that can be done to help?

John did not win, you were the winner as usual. Hope the weather isn't too severe. It's been so chilly here the last few weeks, just finally starting to warm up again.

Have a great week :)

Guess we all are getting our fair share of wicked weather...the snow was coming down or I should say across, straight sideways, and huge flakes, wet, heavy stuff that will be miserable to plow. That's Bill's job but he loves it, even when he's sick too. The snow is going to have to wait this time...
It's amazing how well the cattle handle weather change. I hope the best for the new calves. The turtles will just bury themselves in the mud to stay warm, and come for your goodies. I love that. Yes, Mother Nature has her own mind.
Stay warm and out of the elements.
Blessings

We did not get snow here this time but we had high winds. The western part of the state got quite a lot of now, the winds came and drifting is bad. Glad we don't have to be in that part of Ne. for any reason. We are a long ways from blooms.
