Proud Papa

John is like a proud papa over his tomato plants. He swears they have grown several inches already. Well they are dark green and standing up straight. If they make any tomatoes I hope the birds I feed doesn't peck holes in them. He insists I go out with him at least once a day to admire them. While we were watering them this afternoon I spotted two blueblonnets blooming in the yard. They were kind of pale and short and not real healthy looking but I was proud too. Now if I can keep him from mowing them down before they go to seed maybe we can have a come-back with them. Wow it was hot here today, in the 90's. Already air-conditioner and fan weather. Time to put the winter clothes away. Geeze I didn't even get to wear half of them. Guess our town is going to be on the news tonight. Hope I don't forget to turn the TV on at ten. KENS from San Antonio was on main street with their van and the tall antenna they use when they go out on site to film. Doesn't take much to excite us here.

Yeah, we had 80's, too. I never get to wear all my winter clothes...we really don't ever wear coats much anymore...just go from car into the business.

Wow! Can't believe your temps are in the 90s already. We had a high on Saturday of 70 and it was very sunny. Then Sunday our high was 30-something and we had snow showers for most of the day. Yesterday we had rain and thunderstorms, with temps in the 50s. Now today it's supposed to be sunny with a high of only 40 or so. It's sort of like a roller coaster ride! Glad the tomatoes are doing well. I was thinking of doing some container tomatoes this year, but I don't know if I'll really have the time.

WE are doing good with weather but not the 90's. We don't carry too much in seasonal clothes, if it gets cold we just move to where it it warmer. hahaha....
I wish I had tomato plants to be proud of....

Happy Spring.. (I just learned about it, yeah I am slow!)

So luck has fallen on you with beautiful summer weather in the spring time. Our highs have only been in the low 30's and we call that a ' heat wave.' :) Bill just threw more wood on the fire to keep my butt warm.
I am envious of John's tomato plants. You will be eating yours about the time we are planting ours.
Me, not happy about this extended winter...it's snowing and blowing again, as I type.
BlessYa I will take sunshine now.

Egads! 90 already? Too hot for me but I'd take it over our -0 temps today!

Love fresh tomatoes and you've sure made me miss the bluebonnets.
