The Last Waltz

I love the name of this ranch. It says it all. We headed south towards Corpus Christi and then turned east at Mc Coy. The long way around to Poth to buy cow feed. A little diversion and not as much traffic but five miles farther. I like to see the cattle ranches and the big houses. I said I like to see them, not want one, not jealous. We bought 20 --50# bags of feed and John's little Ford Ranger was dragging. I always wonder what would he do if he had a flat with that load on. John doesn't worry, he only crosses a bridge when he gets to it. Someone always comes along to help him. We did cross a few bridges--the San Anonio river, the Atascosa creek, and the Borrego creek. I always wondered what that word means so I looked it up in my Spanish/ English dicitionary. It means fool or simpleton. Don't you wonder how creeks get their name? There is one I think east of San Antonio named The Woman Hollering creek. I bet these creeks could tell a story. I like the Last Waltz ranch and would like to go through that pretty gate to look around.

That woman Hollering Creek sounds intriguing. But I think The Last Waltz Ranch sounds perfect.

Hmmm wonder what happened at Women Hollering Creek? Lol

Men don't worry until after they have to.

I remember crossing a Crazy Woman Creek. Yeah the names are interesting. Probably more men have that philosophy than women, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. LOL
Enjoyed this entry you always spin a good tale..

Love and ((HUGS)) from over here.

Those really are great names. There is a creek near here called Lancassange. I'm pretty sure it's a Native American word, but I don't know what it means.

You are exactly where you need to be, and so am I. That's why we aren't jealous.

Hey, I am back. I was yesterday, but had fooled around so long just made it a test run. Interesting how some creeks get their names. I wish I could have been around to see what went on at the Hollering Creek.
