This & That

Who feeds a cat at two in the morning and she isn't even mine? I was watching the indoor/outdoor thermometer and the degrees were heading to freezing. When I went out to drip my faucet Miss Daisy came up behind me meowing. She looks to be going to give birth to about eight soon. Remember she belongs to the neighbors but lives at my house and eats at John's house and probably anywhere else she can. What was she doing up at two A.M. in the cold? I'm doing laundry this morning. Having a hard time getting used to my new machine. It makes odd noises compared to my old old one that finally bit the dust. The instructions say to put the clothes in clumps around the agitator. That just seems so wrong when I have been careful to spread them out around it for so many years. I'm an old dog and I don't LIKE new tricks. I was feeling fairly smug after my neighbor's on each side had wind damage to their roof after the day of hard wind last week. Until my neighbor called me to his yard and pointed out a little damage to my roof. He had a bird's eye view while repairing his. He has promised to repair mine when he gets a day off from his job as prison guard. Nice to have nice neighbors. Of course I will pay him but it won't be like hiring a roofing company. Speaking of nice people (well sort of) the banker called wanting to return John's gate key to the ranch. John told him just drop it in the mail and we promised to keep watching for the exotic deer and if we see it we will call him at once. Now to go put my potatoes on to bake. Wow! I'm cooking today, broiled steak, baked potatos, and salad.

Roof damage of any kind can lead to troubles, so I'm glad yours is getting mended. I agree about that washer, seems odd to put clothes in clumps and I don't like new tricks either.
Now, that's a meal worth sinking your teeth into.
About a man's word, my BIL from TX used to always say, "Promise." It means the same~your our word is gospel when you say "Promise."

The kitty is probably looking for a friendly place to nest. And just be careful - we had someone just hop on our roof and he fell 45 feet. We were scared to death about being sued, but it was okay.

Hugs, sandie
PS What time is dinner?

Strangely enough, my new washing machine is much more noisy than the old one was. I think the old ones were made better.....

I get scared every time I see a stray cat because I'm still taking care of all the cats my neighbor abandoned.

Hi there, Paula! Miss Daisy is very lovely! Anyway, I’m glad that your neighbor saw the damage in your house. You know, roof damage is one of the things you have to get fixed as soon as possible. Even the slightest damage can be harmful, especially when the weather turns for the worse.

We must be living parallel lives...we just got a new washer this year and we have to put our clothes in clumps and I had a hard time adjusting to that, too. We bought a Roper washer from Lowes..top loading...just about the cheapest they had...it uses less water than our old washer did and it gets them cleaner. It never goes off balance...so far.

I would also feed a pregnant cat that was outside my house. I am soft hearted. Tonight on the news they were showing a pet adoption they were putting on in a local town and showed all the little dogs in cages and I just started crying. I have 3 dogs. I can't stand to see an animal mistreated. If I was Mr. Banker, I would be spending my time and money trying to help homeless animals instead of shooting "caged" ones. That just gets my blood to boiling. :(
