All I Meant To Do Was Buy A New Comforter

One thing led to another and now I'm exhausted. I don't care to think how many years my bedroom has been lavendar and white. That includes four different houses with different bedrooms but by gum I was stuck on lavendar and white. Sometime I was brave enough to change a picture or a curtain but it was lavendar or white. One day recently I thought you know I could buy a new comforter for my bed, so I did. Know what color I bought? Not lavendar, not white. Black background with big dots of white, lavendar, purple, and kind of a bright pink. (You know what they say old women can wear purple and dangling earrings if they want) so I bought black with bright dots. Now my lavendar curtain doesn't match my black comforter . When I took it down I notice there is enough dust on the blind to make a whirl wind. Wash the blind, wash the window, buy new black valance curtain. Too long, who wants a black curtain anyway? Package it up to take back. Low and behold I found an old one in a drawer that looks perfect, matches one  color of the dots on the comforter. It is even clean so on the rod it goes and on the window. Ever hide boxes under the bed just until next week and next week turns into a year. Those boxes are dusted off and in the garage. Took all those lavendar pictures down and put up a black frame and added some black and white ceramic birds above each top corner. Tomorrow I'm going back to buy a cluster of black round mirrors to arrange behind the bed. Wow! I like it and in a few hours my room went from a little girl to a big girl and the room looks bigger for some reason. The white iron bed was left to me and my deceased husband by his grandmother. The bed is very old because when we were married in 1956 they celebrated their fifth and the bed was second hand when they got it. As I said all I meant to do was buy a new comforter.

I bought a pillow....a throw pillow...with no clue what I intended to do with it. It's blue background with a pink bird on a limb with a lime green leaf and some white and orange flowers....very colorful. Decided to use it on my daybed, but if I put it on the daybed where everything is red, tan, and blue, I am going to have to change the entire room....curtains, spread, pillows, pictures....so do I take the pillow back, give it away, or save it for a while until I decide a less costly use for it. It started just by buying a pillow. I do know what you mean!

It sounds very nice. I need to bring you over to my house because I am sorely lacking in design skills, lol. My furniture and frills are...eclectic (another fancy way of saying they don't really match). Anyway, it is what it is for now. Glad yours all worked together for good.

For some odd reason, I don't care for lavender or pink. Not very girlie, huh? I love royal purple and red. A few years ago, we did the bedroom over in various degrees of chocolate w/a pale green accent and sheets. It looked fine until I turned the lights on at night - the pale green looked a dirty gold in artificial light. Everything else in the house is either antique or whatever was on sale. Nothing matches.

Funny when you decide to change I see saw back and forth. Got my hair cut and feel better but still not right. I am going to make an appointment with my dctor Monday. I am beginning to wonder if my blood is to thin.

You made me giggle. I've done similar things so many time. The good news is...you're so happy with it all. It sounds delightful! Sleep well. :)

I have the same things at one time or another. With me, I cant buy, so I rearrange the room...lol Makes me feel like I bought 'a comforter' tho! Happy Saturday.

Simple things always have a way of turning into complications. I'm glad you got it all sorted out.
