Fixin' Fence On Sunday?

I kept saying what a beautiful morning it was. It was until we got a call from the farm house renter saying someone had run through the fence with their car. Off with the church clothes and on with the jeans. Sure enough when we got there a cute (used to be cute) little car was totaled over the property line. Young girl driver was no where to be seen but her Mom and step Father were there to take responsibility. Real Father had picked her up and took her to his house. Humm no insurance, no driver's licence, drinking, drugs, speeding? Yes I'm the "doubting thomas". Step Father told me he had just bought this car for her and had it delivered to the school with a big red bow on top for her graduation present. Thank goodness she didn't have a passenger or they surely would have been killed. She went across the farm-to-market road into the ranch fence, sideswiped a tree on the passenger side, continued several feet and spun around before coming to a stop scattering car parts all along the way. Maybe she did fall asleep and it was all innocence. I hope she is okay and learned her lesson the hard way which could have been much harder. The longhorn cow is not John's, just the only picture I could find of a fence.

You gotta do what you gotta do. Most kids (not all) wreck their first car, I cannot imagine what these parents are thinking. These children need to be in a truck with a governor on them.

Hope she learned a lesson, whatever caused her to wreck. Glad she is ok.

Glad nobody was hurt.

If she had done that in my State, she would have found herself in jail leaving the scene of an accident. I am glad no one was hurt and hope they will make quick to make repairs to the fence. We've lost many teens in our County and it was not due to drug or alcohol, but over correcting driving mistakes due to lack of driving experience. Going to fast, texting, getting distracted with others in their vehicles, tired and falling asleep. All have left their parents prisoners of such great loss. I am so glad she is okay and that her parents won't have that nightmare following them around.

Well a girl like that hit my mom in 2001 and she stopped moving from pain - and that was the beginning of the end for her - so I hope this little girl will be more careful. sandie

It is amazing when some one survives an accident like that and can still call someone to come and get her and well enough to go away and call someone else to cover for her.

I do hope this time the cost of fence repair is paid.
Take care. (HUGS)

Either way, some people just have to learn the hard way. Hope John didn't have much problems repairing the fence.

You ought to send the teenager a bill just to scare her.....

Goodness....sounds like a soap opera....and like someone is begging for attention....and like someone needs to learn to buy her own car so she will appreciate the value of it and not tear it into a million little parts...and if he just bought it, he didn't have insurance on it? mercy!
