Brownie A Special Cat

My brother and sister-in-law bought a Siamese cat for Lynda and Leah for their birthday. They ask if it was okay first so I said be sure to get a male so we won't have any kittens. Yeah right! Wasn't long until a female Siamese appeared at our door. I tried to find the owner and couldn't so of course we had to keep her. We named her Brownie and the male was Cocoa. Not long 'til we had kittens and not long after that some more and more . Brownie usually gave birth to three each time. I placed an ad in the paper each time to sell them for $15.00 a piece. No papers of course but they did look full blood. Brownie took a liking to riding in the car. Just the rattle of keys would bring her running wanting to ride along. Both daughters had first time jobs at the movie theater so when I would pick them up late at night Brownie loved to ride along and sit on the back of the car seat to watch the movie goers come out and go to their cars. Brownie was a delicate lady. She could walk among what nots on shelves and never knock anything off. Cocoa was a strong masculine cat. They made a perfect feline couple. I thought of them yesterday when I noticed a part Siamese cat has taken up residence and given birth in my back yard under my storage shed. One of her babies looks part Siamese too. Now I know where that old lunch meat in the fridge that John bought and didn't eat will go.

I've always been an easy mark for strays. I think there is a code where they mark your house for other way farers.

Cute Kitty!

Sweet story of Brownie and Cocoa. Yep, the strays go thru the neighbor hood saying,'Drop by Miss Paula's she'll feed you!'

Love you lady. My mama could not let a cat stop at her house without feeding it.

What a sweet story. Cats usually don't like to be in the car. How delightful that yours did.

It's interesting that a cat would ride around in a car like that! I've attempted that and the results weren't too good.

I'm glad to see you're still blogging Ms. Paula :)

I enjoyed heasring about Brownie and Cocoa. It's extremely rare for a cat to enjoy riding in a car!

It looks like you now have a new friend to care for. I always seem to have cats under my storage sheds.
The strays in my yard are driving me crazy. It's easy to give away the kittens, but nobody wants the older cats.

the feral cats that visit our barn and woodshed to have their litters come and go again when the kittens are around 6 wks. old. I'd love to feed them so they'd stay but too many allergies with the Grandloves that would want to tame them. nice story about Brownie and Cocoa. beautiful cat!
Did John take up knitting yet????
life is good

Oh I love Siamese cats. I had a spayed female Siamese, she was 16 years old when I had to have her put down. Loved the fact she stayed off the counters and tables and stayed out of my face. She'd let you pet her when she was in the mood, lol.

Amazing that it was a Siamese that showed up at your door to pair up with your own Siamese. I have always had a soft spot for a Siamese cat, and I would love to have had one that liked to ride in cars.

Feeding the turtles, the little wild rabbit, and now a stray Siamese -- I think word is getting out in the animal kingdom about the nice lady that likes to feed the wildlife.
