John In The Cotton

I call this plant fake cotton. It is growing all over our area right now. On fences, on little hills, anywhere it can get a hold on. I took this a few weeks ago when we went down into the dry creek bed and under the bridge over the farm-to-market road along side the ranch. I don't remember this plant growing until the last few years. I'm wondering where it came from, how it got started, and if it grows in other parts of Texas or any other state.

Neat shot. And yeah, it is strange how a plant would seem to 'show up', and start showing off.
Love ya!

Send or take some close-ups to the local university extension agent and have him/her identify. It may be harmless, but then again...
It's pretty!

If nobody has claimed a name maybe you can name it :)

Reminds me of someone's bright idea to plant trees from Australia in the everglades and they took over...! Hope it won't have the same result. Liked the one idea about sending a sample to a research U.
