Have You Ever Seen So Many Dollar Stores?

Maybe we should be buying stock in a Dollar Store. How did they get dollar attached their name? Everything cost more them a dollar except at Dollar Tree. I can keep that name straight as I know it truly is a dollar store.
We like to buy sunglasses there since we lose them, sit on them, bend them. Plus I like to match my sunglasses to my clothes. Recently my doctor commented that my sunglasses matched my socks. I told him I was still celebrating Flag Day. That brought up the subject of displaying our great flag on the proper holidays. I like my primary doctor because he treats you like a friend not just a number. Anyway back to the Dollar Stores. John's little Podunk hometown is getting a Dollar Store. It will be opening soon. Their streets aren't all paved, they are holey (not holy), they make you think of driving parts of Mexico but by golly they are going to have a Dollar Store. My little home town has had one a few years now and there are stores out of town  almost in the country. They must do very well as people can buy so many different products and not have to drive to town. Yep if I was going to buy stock I think it would be in Dollar Stores.

Dollar store are everywhere (almost like Dairy Queen). Even in my small town there is a Dollar General and a Family Dollar store. I often buy groceries in Dollar General. They carry some frozen stuff now.

I've seen the Dollar Tree in bigger cities, like San Angelo and Odessa. They are always right near a Wal-Mart. I wonder if there's any connection.

Good question Jon. Our Dollar Tree is across the street from the side of WalMart.

I have a thought for you. Remember the dime stores? Think about it like this, what used to cost a dime, is more like a dollar now!

You are so right, when we travel we see a dollar store of some 'stripe' way out in the boonies.
I have been trying to do a blog entry on the kind of Dr. you have. I like that.

I didn't know anyone else lost, broke and sat on their sunglasses as mush as me. LOL

Love the post

When I was in college, I actually had to do a bit of research on this subject and it is all a result of inflation. The dollar stores replaced the $.05 and $.10 stores we may remember of yester years...lol. We have quite a few in the next town over. It started with a "Dollar Store" and then a "Family Dollar Store" came into town.
