"A bird in hand is worth two in the bush", out of the bush those two you can flush.
"Don't cry over spilt milk", that's what people say. The cat can drink it, it very well may.
"Measure twice, cut once", good Swedish advice. Whatever you're building will come out nice.
"When the cat is away the mouse will play". You can bet at mealtime the cat will have it's day.
"What's good for the goose is good for the gander", meaning equalization no matter what the gender.
"Wild horses couldn't keep you away", I don't see how they could unless upon the ground you lay.
When you are peeved "you have your tail over the dash", be careful you are in a position to have a crash.
"Eat drink and be merry for tomorrow you may die" and if you don't, on indigestion you can rely.
You have an idea if you have "a bee in your bonnet". It's well that you don't, or you would be throwing a fit.
So just" walk a mile in my shoes" and you will know, why out of my mouth these silly things flow.

Oh I love it!
I had never heard "tail over the dash " either until I met my friend Vida from Arkansas .She used to day this often.
I like 'em all, but I am partial to your writing, it always gives me a kick and a lot of smiles.

Very clever! LOve it!
can relate to measure twice, cut once. I remind Bill of that all the time, and ya know, he does.
I like um but like Jack, I'm partial to your writing too.
Have a great week, PaulaGirl
Fun stuff, nice to get into that frame of mind, isn't it?
I like the one about the spilled milk...and cats drinking up the mess. Yep. Good kitties.
Hey? Is that flowering bush in your header a lantana? Pretty scene.
I had forgotten some of these sayings. I'm glad you resurrected them - and I enjoyed your poetic additions!
How clever - I would not have thought of doing this. Thank you for leaving a comment on the Mabel and her Fleas blog by the way.
I have never heard of "having your tail over the dash" - I had better look that one up. :)
