We Found The Perfect Place

The perfect place to slide down a hill on a piece of cardboard in the snow. Well if there was some snow. We haven't had a real snow since 1985 so it's about time. We're having a real winter this year. Not like years past a few cold days and then bam, back to the 70's or 80's. I remember our last snow clearly. It was a week-end and you know in south Texas when it snows the world shuts down. Our houses aren't prepared for it and we don't know how to drive in it. On Monday there was still snow on the ground but the sun was shining and it was melting. We already had cabin fever so we went out to eat for about an hour. When we came home someone had broke into our house and took guns, a good microwave, not the little one from Walmart to warm in. It was a big one that you can cook in. Mel's nice camera. My good all weather coat lined with fake fur that looked real and lots of jewelry. They must have dumped it into their pocket as the jewelry box was upside down on the bathroom floor. The joke was on them there. All cheap jewelry. My diamond earrings were hid and my wedding set was on my finger. Terrible feeling to know someone has been in your house rummaging through you things. Anyway if it snows if we can drive to WalMart without slipping and sliding we can slide down a hill to the side of WalMart. Funny as many times at we have been to WalMart we never noticed that hill. I think I'm just dreaming.

the break-in was terrible! must have known you were gone by the tracks in the snow.

we had heavy snows 3 winters ago - 10 inches fell at once and stayed on the ground for several days - almost unheard of for NE Tx area. :)

It is always nice to be prepared!

But the story of the break-in is sickening as I mentioned in an earlier blog.
I despise thieves.

But We love you lady and hope one day you get to slide down the hill.!

What an incredibly horrible feeling to know that strangers had invaded the privacy of your house and took your things. I'm assuming they were never caught. I'm wondering if they watched you leave.

The nice thing about snow in Texas is that it doesn't last long. We get a fair amount of snow here on the high plains, but it usually doesn't last more than two or three days.

Have a wonderful 2014!

It snowed in Corpus Christi last...in 2004 ON Christmas Eve no less.

Sorry to hear about the invasion. And your loss. But sliding down a hill in the snow sounds like fun.

Sorry about the break-in. That's just horrible.

Nice you found a good sliding place though! Be careful on cardboard... I have my reasons.

A break-in is one thing I fear, but has never happened to me, thank God.
It is nice to know that you thought of me. I did you too, often. :) Have a wonderful New Year.
