Calves enjoying springtime

See how the grass is trying to green up? If only we can get some nice rains now. A mama cow grazing while her calf plays with a friend. Late this afternoon we had to meet the land owner's grandson about a well problem. Water problems cannot be ignored and think they have it under control. The grandson is still working on the farm house. It is going to real nice when finished. He has a full time job in the oil field, a wife, and new baby, Weston so he works on it when he can. He seems to know how to do everything, just finding time.

I was wondering about the fence.
where the grass is growing.
Looks like a nice fence. What
was kept there.

Shirl the picture on my header is a hog trap. You know the one we joked about you borrowing. We put feed in there and the hogs went in and the door slammed shut. If you can see the three barbed wires across the front that is to prevent deer or calves from going in and getting scared and hurting themselves but the hogs can still go under the wires.

Sweet, sweet photo Paula.

Yes, water is a very important thing. Hope the well is working soon.

It's nice to see young people out fixing things up, we don't see much of that around here. Pretty pictures of the cow's and calves.

Wow, you're having a much nicer spring than I am here in west TX.
It was 32 degrees last night and the grass is still dormant.
There's a possibility of rain tomorrow.

Oh to see green grass...I'm craving the sight of it. We are in the middle of another snow storm with predictions of up to 16 inches before nightfall...
I thought that was a hog cage on your last header. we saw quite a few of them when in KOKOMO by Gorman,TX. visiting and deer/hog hunting a few yrs.back.
AND, young lady with the heavy foot....be careful out there...but I did have to laugh....sorry.
All in a day of a country gal, right? so, I missed it, was that on a paved or dirt road that you got ticketed...lol

Great weather for calves to play and humans to watch. Hope the water problem isn't a big one. I bet it would tough to haul water enough for the cattle...

Love sent from South Carolina

Paula - it is beautiful there. I certainly do understand that there is so much to do and so little time.
