Me In Trouble?

A few days ago I did a little cleaning in John's old work truck. Well it wouldn't look so old if he would wash it and clean it out once in a while. His jacket was filthy and it's May after all, winter is over. So unbeknown to him I took his jacket in and washed it and left it hanging in the laundry room to dry. We left the house for the ranch very early and was out there to burn pear before day light. It was so cold John was scrambling around looking for his jacket. Uhhh umm it's at home in the laundry room. He didn't get too mad at me as when he got that hot fire going he didn't need it. The wild animals must be so hungry and thirsty now they are getting almost tame. We saw three wild turkeys and they didn't even run when they heard the truck and they never did run away. When we finished the chores we stopped near where I leave pellets for the cottontail rabbits. I'm fairly sure the one always waiting around the area is the same one so I'm adopting him/her and naming it Hopper. Today was the second day I have been able to walk and stand just a few feet from it and it doesn't run away. Of course I talk softly to it and don't make any sudden movements. We had another nice rain here in town and just some at the ranch. Not enough but we're thankful for what we get.

glad you did get some at the ranch. we got 3/4 inch last night but because of the heavy rain the night before, we're getting good run-off from it. (thank goodness!)

Well, whoever thought we'd need a jacket in May??

It was 100 degrees in my part of Texas a few days ago, and last night it dropped down into the 30's. I had to put an extra blanket on my bed.

Love the story about the jacket. That has happened here. Hopper sounds like a sweet one.

It has been hot here, but after all the rain we've had today it's cool down. I had to go to the grocery store and it come a gully buster, ha. I had to wait about 20 minutes for it to slack enough so I could get to the car. Jean

I wish I could send some of our rain to you. It seems no one gets what they need. Hopper is a good name. I wish you could leave him water to go with those pellets.

Hopper...cute choice!!
Yep, we got some rain too. Of that news, I'm thankful. But hopefully more will come along sooner than later.

I love this entry. I figured once John started the fire he wouldn't need the coat, but then if it was there he could have dried it out with the fire.

Imma thinking you are going to adopt the entire animal population of the Ranchland. But it is SWEET anyway!!!
Love the Picture of Great Grandma!!!
