How To Tell When A Person Is Getting Old

I find I like to tell about my life in my younger years. I don't know why because there is nothing outstanding about it. Maybe because it didn't take a lot to make me happy. If you don't like old memories you can click off and skip it. If you decide to read did you notice the old heater in the picture in the last post? Hard to miss it, right? We heated our house with that for several years plus a bathroom space heater and the oven when it came a really cold spell. In summer we had one air conditioner in the master bedroom and a water cooler in the kitchen/dining room which at night we could direct the air into the girls bedroom. Some where in the probably 70's, Mel ( deceased husband) decided to install central heat and air since he worked for a Commercial Refrigeration company and knew how to do it. Can you imagine how excited and proud we all were the day he finished and turned it on? Every time I look at this and other pictures I think of the memories at this house and with this stove. Dressing in front of it in the living room, burning on one side and freezing on the other but we managed. Kind of makes me appreciate what I have now.

Oh yes, memories and I guess we are with you here. Remember the warm on one side and cold on the other.

WOW yeah, I can just imagine the proud feeling when Mel finished the h/AC job. Not everyone had it, that is for sure.

For us Seniors, memories must suffice in so many cases.

Love it...

I can remember those times. I like to read about things that happen when you were younger so keep writing. Hot here in Alabama this evening, but with a shower of rain maybe it will cool down some. Take care, Jean.

It's easier to talk about days gone by as we age, the hard part is remembering if we took our morning pills.

I grew up with a wood stove in the living room. But it could heat the whole house when needed!
