Three Inches Of Rain On Dry Parched Land

It's not stormin' right now but it's still cloudy and it did storm early this morning. Sounded close and scary to wake up to. When we got to the ranch and checked the rain gauge to find three inches we weren't complaining. We couldn't drive anywhere it was so muddy except to the farm house. John had to carry the feed in sections in a bucket to the shed where the feed tubs are. Then he obliged me by taking the rabbit pellets to their spot where they would be dry. He had on boots and I didn't so me and the rabbits appreciated that. Everything was huddled somewhere out of the weather except we saw one Jackrabbit as we were leaving down the lane. They are so funny. It had it's long ears slicked back as far as they would go and it was running near the ground as fast as it's legs would carry him/her. I think they think if they do that they can't be seen.

Three inches of rain is a lot for the thirsty, parched land. We've been getting a lot of rain lately, too. This is the wettest season I can remember since I've been in Texas.

Ain't John nice to feed the Rabbits.

About the jack Rabbit. I haven't seen many, but when in Texas and the west, I love seeing them... They have REAL RABBIT EARS!!!
