Update On The Antique Road Show

My girls did go and they did show their items but were told they only have value of the heart or something like that. They will not be on the show but they are not bitter they enjoyed going and seeing what it was all about and had a good time. Leah took a clock that had belonged to her father-in-law and I don't know her second item. Lynda took some sort of cigarette box or something like that, that she bought when she lived in England. I don't know what her second item was either. I was hoping they would take a baby bottle we have but probably not old enough either. Have you ever seen one like it? It is a flat bottle and the nipple fits over the top of the bottle. I've seen those but this one has a thermometer mounted on one side to gauge the warmth of the milk. Mel (my daughter's Dad) worked for a company who did Commercial Refrigeration and occasionaly bought out old drug stores as they were called back then. They wanted the old equipment from soda fountains, ice cream boxes etc. for parts. If they got the bid they had to clean out the whole store and the boss would tell them to haul the odds and end products off to the dump so Mel brought a few things home that seemed to be of interest. We had this case of baby bottles in a shed for years. When I opened it before moving there was only about three of the bottles in the box and I think only one still had the thermometer mounted on the side. The girls said the most interesting thing they saw was a man brought a very large chandelier mounted on a dolly so that it hung as if it was mounted on a ceiling. They didn't know how he managed to load and unload it to keep from breaking it. Anyway I'm sure it will be interesting to them to watch when this particular show airs. It was a different experience for them and they are always in for that.

Sounds like a fun experience regardless of the outcome.

It had to be fun for them... and the excitement of "maybe". Your baby bottle sounds interesting...

Oh yeah, just being there would be fun. But on the baby bottle, I have never heard of such, that would have been interesting. Glad they did go, and it would have been nice to have been selected.

The Antiques Road Show is one of my favorite shows. I'm glad your daughters got a chance to actually see it in person.
I've never heard of the kind of baby bottle you described, but it sounds unique.

Now those baby bottles would've been interesting. I have never heard of such a thing as a thermometer on the bottle. Interesting.

Ya, I would agree, it would be fun to make sure the episode isn't missed after participating in it.
