Dear Avon

The last time I checked I still live in the United States of America so why leave a catalog printed all in Spanish in my drive-way? I agree about half of our neighborhood are Hispanic but they speak and write English as they should. When I used to go to Mexico I didn't understand  Spanish, my fault. Sorry I won't be placing an order. I don't know what 24 Horas De Hidratacion means. I think you're telling me Skin So Soft will make be beautiful in 24 hours.

Such a shame. Catalogs are always so much fun to look at.

We have gotten so political correct we have become sick. I have never heard of a nation so bent on watering down our language on language heritage.

I meant to say I like that header picture. And also like the addition to the side bar, especially the younger days. Striking couple there...

I think it means a 24 hour skin hydration. We sure need it here in West TX. Thanks to the heat and low humidity, I'm turning into an Egyptian mummy.

lol. I used to sell Avon. Maybe the representative ordered Spanish brochures. Did you know that you can go online and order off line now? When I went into JCPenney a couple of weeks ago, they gave me a credit application...entirely in Spanish. I couldn't read a word. It's a good thing. Credit would just get me into trouble! :)

Yep, that one would go in the trash. If I don't understand it, why keep it.

Why is every company bending over backwards to widen the gap? We are an English speaking country. I am tired of accommodating those who have the ways and means and (hopefully) the brains to learn the language. If I moved to China, I would expect to HAVE to learn the language.

Sorry, my two cents came out on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

What I think is hilarious is when you call a company and get the menu to push this button or that button to speak or find out some answers...after it's all done in English then the Spanish version comes on for those 'aliens'.

I just have to laugh. But thing is, we ARE American; English speaking country. We should ALL speak English.

Actually - we should all be speaking a Native American language - since we stole their country and they were here long before the "white man". And how rude and insulting to proclaim that all people in the US should speak English - it does give one a better advantage if one can speak it - but it should not be required - such self centered brats the white people seem to be - my way or the hiway. One idiot even had the nerve to declare that the Indians should pack up and go back to where they came from - and when a reporter tried to correct him and let him know that the Indians came from HERE - the idiot threatened to shoot the reporter with an assault rifle. That's ignorance gone to seed.

Can most of you speak two languages - like the Hispanics, Indian, Portuguese etc can - it is not a bad thing to be bi-lingual - we made sure our kids learned at least one other language fluently - not just high school language classes - it is an honor to speak more than one language - to understand another culture - and a catalog in Spanish is a good chance to brush up on some words we might not know, since there are pictures it will be easier.

So stop being a stuck up elitest - let people speak the language they are comfortable with - as you said - you couldn't understand the locals when you went to Mexico - shouldn't you expect as much of yourself (speak the language of the country) as you expect of others in your country? If you were forced to speak Spanish in Mexico I'm positive that you would have been looking for someone to have an English conversation with now and then just to give your brain a rest.

I applaud anyone who can speak two or more languages, I can't. If I lived in Mexico or any other country I would try to learn their language. I live in the United States Of America and speak the language and I don't hide behind Anonymous.
