And Not A Picture To Show For It

So many pictures passing the truck window and not safe to stop. It's such a nice drive to Poth, Texas to buy cattle feed. I see things I want to take pictures of but it's a narrow farm to market road and I don't take the chance of getting chigger bites standing in tall grass. I've been there and done that. As we drive out of town there is the Longhorn Museum with lots of cute cut-out cowboys and such plus the old Pleasanton train depot painted to perfection. On down we see fields and farmers have left some of the beautiful trees with their limbs hanging gracefully to the ground. Pretty gates and ranch houses and my favorite the house that looks like a red barn but in reality it is a house with all their tractors sitting in front. I don't know if they are decorations or if they put them to use. We pass the Cheer Academy putting an old tin barn with paint peeling to use. Next comes the Promised Land Dairy. At one time they had a restaurant and a small bus to take people on tours of the dairy. Now it's just a dairy. A beautiful Pecan Park on the edge of Floresville with nice walking trails. This is where we turn right to hit the main highway toward Poth. Some large homes with old rock fences. Lyssy and Echols loaded us up with speed. They must have a good laugh at us with a big load on a little Ranger when most of the farmers and ranchers there drive the big guy trucks. Time to go back home. Lots of road construction and in places we had to wait for the pilot car. Lots of big oil field trucks passing, some having manners giving us width and some so close we can feel their breath.

Good sights to see on your drive. I hope your rabbits show back up. Take care, Sheila

Drives like this are always great [except for the construction areas]. When we first got to Texas to live here, I couldn't understand the road signs [FM -a certain number] but soon realized it was a Farm to Market road.

Enjoyed this post, I did.
