Sugar Overdrive

This is my grandson Corey on Halloween 1986. This is the first year in my adult life I'm not giving out candy. The kids in our neighborhood are older and go to a big party at a park given by Cowboy Fellowship. Everyone in the county is invited and they give out nice prizes and I'm sure there is enough candy to put the whole family on a sugar high for a week or longer. If I buy candy John and I would eat some and we both shouldn't and if there is any left we would go into sugar overdrive. I know we could give it away but who needs it at this time of year. We always bought the kind we like just in case. Two big kids at heart so I'm going to nip it in the bud so to speak.

Ah, you guys are enjoying life, that is what counts. It has been sometime since we have had anyone come by to trick or treat, however this time I have seen several kids in the park so maybe this year we had better be prepared.
AND of course we all enjoy the country road tales, when you have one available...

We haven't had the first child come to our door since we moved to the country - 9 years ago. I bought candy for a few years - just in case - but I don't bother anymore. I have a change purse full of quarters now - for just in case. I for sure don't need candy!

Man I am jealous - wish we could stop it too - I love the season - but getting up and down a million times - with the poor dog barking!

I wish I could find something beside Candy to hand out to the kids. Something that they still would like. I guess parents don't appreciate home made food for the kids either. Lets face it.... kids do like candy but I too, am afraid I'll eat it if it's in the house.
