Where Did The People Go?
There are so many of these old abandoned houses in our county. I can't help but stop to take a picture and contemplate a few minutes about the people who lived there and why did they leave. Why didn't someone keep the house up? Did they have a happy life or did they just want to leave and forget it? Notice the fence brace here, not pretty like the one I showed a few days ago.

cute old place. i think, so often, it is the old folks that can't stay by themselves anymore or they pass away. their kids and grandkids have lives in town or across the country and don't ever want to move back. so it sits.
I noticed the roof, and thought how lovely the rain would sound hitting it during a warm day.
It really does make you wonder, doesn't it? I would love to hear some of the stories that old houses could tell...
Sometimes it's hard to take care of a place when you get older and you have to let it go. that is my take on the thing. SAD, isn't it?
...there is still some charm to it all tho!!
Oh yes, the wondering and questions that make up life. We say that often, how could a place like this just sit?
You always produce a good read...

It's sad to see a place crumble but it does make a neat photo opportunity!
i totally agree with you there - i love to see an old property & just make up a story as to why they left? gold rush? new job? love that i am not the only one who thinks & feels this way. too fun!! ( :
