My Favorite Plant

You would think I wouldn't care for a plant with such vicious looking thorns. I've been stuck, poked, and spent time picking thorns out of my skin, yet I'm still drawn to their beauty. They can go for long times without water and the bugs doesn't 't seem to like them. Several years ago we were walking through a nursery and John ask me what I wanted for my birthday. I said that cactus right there. It was much smaller then. I've repotted it once and it needs it again. To repot without drawing blood I cut the bottom out of the pot it was bought in by gently laying it on it's side, then setting it into the new pot and filling around with dirt. Do you like cactus plants or have you had a sticky experience with one?

I love cactus from a distance. I tried to hug one once, to show off for a picture, I sorta fell out of love. LOL.
Mama loved and raised them. My Big brother loved and raised them.

I like'em because they remind me of COWBOYS! (smile)

I love Cacti as you said they are easy to care for. I bought two new ones at a festival not long ago. I'll take a photo and show you some day! I just bought some soil for them and will be re-potting them soon. I wear thick leather gloves when I work with them!

That is beautiful and unique - we don't have those here (I don't think).
