My Least Favorite Senior Scam

HELLO SENIORS: I don't know what he is trying to sell and don't care. I hang up. They have our number though, both numbers. We both have a land line and a cell phone but we don't give our cell phone numbers out. The landline numbers we have both had for years so those numbers are broadcast all over the nation. Yes we know about the "no call" list and that worked well when it first started. They (who ever they is) was at work early this morning. John's truck battery was dead so I had to take him in my truck to feed the cows. Me and my truck doesn't like dirty floor mats but we got 'em now. Anyway while we were out John got a message on his landline from the IRS (right). They want him to call them back right away because they are filling suit against him. He didn't call back so right after lunch they called again. John had already talked to his CPA and seems they are hitting this area pretty hard.

ARgh!! We are on the no call list but still get calls every so often. We had one calling at 8pm the other night...Fred kept hanging up on them. The last time I took the phone and it was some foreign dude. I literally screamed in his ear and then cussed him out big time! Needless to say the calls stopped, lol. Fred said I was rude but the calls stopped and he was rude if you ask me!

You have to be so careful these days from these scammers. They are determined and you have to be more so.

I hate any kind of scam to any age - it just isn't right.

Such an aggravation, and those scams are so obvious you wonder why anyone falls for them.

I hate it when they start to talk to you as if they know you. I may be forgetful, but I am not that bad yet.

It's dirty to have you call them - then that opens a dialog as if you have a business connection with them - that is allowed even if you are on the do not call list. (Like talking to the dentist or whatever)

The problem is,it scares some seniors and they do not know to call and check with anyone.

That is why I think the IRS should be downgraded as far as it's ability to be above the law. It is pitiful when the name of any Government agency ALONE, scares the life out of the citizen, even the higher ups. that is why the scam works so well, the name alone just about does the job. SHAME! It is about like saying the NAZI SS is on their way to see you

(I have got to get a proof reader. hahaha)

too bad you don't have caller ID on your landlines, you could get the # from the caller and report this.

Be careful.

So sad. I remember seeing this on the news - about this scam going around. I hope they can catch those responsible.

That's terrible. Glad you both knew better than to believe them.
