Not Country Any More

This tree is all that's left on property down the street from us. It was solid trees and brush, an old dairy barn, a grain tank, and animals at times. I've heard the city won't permit anyone to destroy an oak tree. Our town is noted for it's live oaks and friendly folks. So what will be built there? My guess is it will be the second phase of a large gated apartment complex the newspaper has announced.

They call it progress, I call it aggravation!! Glad they left the Oak tree but they should have left more!

Aw... progress. That stinks, but at least they saved the tree.

I have no doubt the City forces the preservation of the tree.
But that is a small price to pay by the developer, to get permission to clear everything else.
sometimes 'progress' gets in the way of life.
Love from cool Florida!

It looks so lonely and bare.

....more building....more traffic. As if Texas doesn't have enough cars on the road as it is.

But the mighty oak still stands!!!!
