Do You Like To Hear Bells?

I like to hear bells. The bell in this picture is at Bigfoot Wallace museum. There is no sign to tell where it came from. Growing up I was raised across from the Methodist church. I loved to hear the bell ring on Sunday morning. A bone chilling bell ringer was the day it was rung because the war was over. The house I lived in married and raising my children was in bell ringing hearing distance of Mission San Jose. I loved to hear that bell. Once I visited a ranch where they had a dinner bell by their back door. I didn't get to hear that one, but I could imagine how good it sounded to the family and work hands signaling supper was ready, come and get it.

that's a neat bell. my teen years were lived near a railroad track - not quite the same as bells, but i grew to like the train whistle, too.

We have a bell outside our little church. Not always, but often times one of the men will stop and ring it on the way into worship. Usually when there are bunch of stragglers visiting at the picnic tables instead of heading in.

There is nothing sweeter than the sound of bells outdoors.

The last time I heard bells ring Paula, was when I got married and I had the bell ringers,to peel me into church, which was a pretty expensive extra in those days.well worth it though.

My mother has an old dinner bell on her back porch, and she rang it to bring my sister Barbara running from her house when my brother had a seizure a few years ago.
