Let me Try To Explain
Since some have ask what bloat blocks are I will try to explain. We have an abundance of clover growing this year. Beautiful and green and the cows love to eat it. Good because it saves on the amount of feed John has to buy. The draw back is they sometime eat too much and bloat. They can even die. A dead cow is a lot of money lost so John is putting out bloat block for them to lick and they have something in them to solve the problem. At least so far it has solved the problem. I guess they are relatively new because this is the first time I've heard of them but not sure of that. In years past when a rancher/farmer found a cow had ate to much sometime they would put a stick in their mouth and make them walk to loose the gas. Sometime they would prick the cow in a certain place to let the gas out. So you can see the bloat blocks are a handy help tool at the ranch.

i hope they help. horses bloat with colic, too. wonder if bloat blocks are available for them. might have to check into that...
That is incredible. I've never heard of it before. I suppose a few of us humans could use a bloat block now and then.....
And to think, with that extra stomach that cows would have such a problem. I know that they can eat much more and various things than horses with no harm.
Amazing that something can relieve the gas. I sat with my buddies pony the night it died from being foundered, I am sure it is not the same, but the gas could do the same judging from your report.
Anyway I am glad the had the clover, I know the green sure looks good to them!
Okay, Gas-X for animals. I sure hope it works well! Thanks for clearing that up.
Oh my that sounds complicated because of a little bit of gas.
