My Redbud Tree

My tree is already blooming but I wonder what it will look like after this cold spell. We saw beautiful sunshine today but it was still very cold for south Texas. We aren't prepared for bitter cold. We drip our water faucets in hopes our pipes don't freeze and burst. I'm thinking homes up north must be better prepared since so many leave to come south for the winter.

It's encouraging to see a tree blooming. Perhaps spring isn't far off after all.

Hope your winter weather does not destroy the beautiful blooms on your redbud tree. It has been a harsh winter for all of us.

Your tree is pretty. We don't have any blooming yet, but seen some down the street that were. It is cold here this morning. I hope for warmer weather soon.

Love the redbuds and the Bradford pears and the cherry trees. I'm suspecting they may have gotten really cold last night at 23 degrees, so hope they can survive. Our Mountain Laurel has buds, so hope they haven't been nipped. Have a good weekend.

after 3 snows and a couple of sleets and yet another hard freeze overnight, i think the red bud here and the ornamental pear are gonna have a tough year. frozen in bloom.

Pretty tree, I hope it survives, but you never know with the crazy weather we have had.
We leave pipes 500 miles north of us, and we worry about them. You know, "Did I do enough?"
Don't know what the folks do that leave Wisconsin, Michigan and NY do. They are better prepared I know.
TAke cae and stay warm.. COLD is relative to what you are used to.. (smile)

Our redbuds aren't even blooming yet! Our bluebonnets are usually blooming by March 15 and that's only a week away. I'm hoping to make a trip back to the hill country during bluebonnet season.

P.S. It's rare to see a working clock on any courthouse in Texas! I'm not sure I've ever seen one.
