The World's Fair in 1968

Did any one reading this go to the World's Fair in San Antonio? We went several times and it was great. Mel my husband was one of the installers of the equipment in The Tower Of The Americas rotating restaurant. This is a program from the 1968 long running affair.

How exciting is that to have gone to the World's Fair. And for your husband to have worked on part of it. I have never been.

No we did not go, I honestly had no idea what a world's fair was, so we did go to findout when it was in Knoxville, TN, and I do not know the year.
It was very interestiung. I amsure it must be nice to be in the same city (except for the added traffic)

Interesting that Mel worked on the roatating restaurant. I have often wondered how much time it took for workers to get up high and back down every day before the elevator was installed. (smile)

I believe my husband went, they lived there during that time. I'll ask him about it when he gets home.
Hope your day and week are going well. Take care, Sheila

I've never been to any World's Fair, but I did dine in the Restaurant of the Americas! I was dating a fellow named Rocky and about 6 months before I met Pete, we went to San Antonio and did all the sights. River walk, Alamo, carriage ride. I don't remember the food being all that impressive, but the view certainly was!

Paula, this was way before the time for me to be in Texas...I was still in Illinois and not far from the farm.

I have never been to the World's fair, but would have love to. It has been many years since I have went to one of the small ones they have around here. That's interesting your husband working there.
