It was foggy and damp. The cows were still in hiding, fickle girls. They don't need us now, plenty of water in the creek and plenty of green grass and weeds. They have lots of places to hide on four hundred acres. We've been watching a hawk's nest in a small oak tree in the lane. The last few weeks the mama flies out and high into the air when we drive up to the gate. The last two days we noticed she waits until we are almost to the tree to fly out. Instead of flying into the sky she lands on the ground where she can watch us. This morning we stopped under the tree to hear cheeping. I look forward to see how she teaches them to fly and the number of babies.

hope she has a successful brood!
very damp today here, too, with fog in the early air. has to dry up quickly, though, so i can mow as we've got rain expected this afternoon and into all next week.
It would be super if you can get a photo of the mama hawk. And maybe the little ones? *hint*
Oh yes...wet here too. Foggy, raining, and quite warm.
Hawks are fascinating birds. How clever she is to be checking you out as you get close to her babies. Good thing she does not attack you.
Love the flowers in the picture! Watch out! Don't let Mama dive bomb you!
Animals and Fowl are interesting that is for sure. I love to watch the young lean to fly, I look forward to it, if you get to see the exercise.
Love from North CArolina.
