A long time friend from San Antonio called me early this morning to thank me. For what I say? She said for telling me about sticky traps. I thought everyone knew about sticky traps. One person accused me of being inhumane for using them. I caught the largest stinging scorpion I have ever seen one and that was worth it's weight in gold since I am more afraid of those then anything. Once I did catch a relative on one and a cat's tail once but I have them out all time. My friend was all out of breath and tells me when she stepped into her garage to see a snake caught on two sticky traps it scared her so bad she was still shaking. She just retired so she usually calls me at night to tell me what she has been doing or planting, but today she called early morning to say "thank you".

i do not like them. i have the sticky boards for inside the house to catch scorpions, but i've also caught mice on them and i hate it!
Well if it works, use it. I have used the smaller hanging versions of them to catch flies outside and it works wonders as long as you keep little fingers away!
My father used to use those sticky traps and he caught all kinds of things, including mice and lizards. The traps work very well, but I'm not fond of them. I've had my foot (feet) caught on them numerous times.
I'm with Karen. I can imagine not being too happy with scorpions wandering around. I have only seen one real one, I think in Arizona. Nasty looking dude and the ranger said, "Remember HE can hurt you!"
Oh, my a snake?? In a sticky trap...that is really unusual. It doesn't look like it could stop the snake, but I guess in this case it did, right?
So what did she do about the snake? I even have a live trap for mice. I've seen too many maimed in traditional traps before that I just can't look at them all squashed. So I catch and take them far away and then check the steel wool under the kitchen sink and then I'm okay for another year or two!
My friend called a neighbor to bring something to kill it. She said it was hard to kill. Yes Linda it did stop the snake but it was caught on two sticky traps. She had one on each side of something, don't remember what and part of it's body was on each sticky trap. lol
Never heard of them before. But if they catch snakes, I'm in.
Humane? Really? Who cares who a pest, varmint or relat...I mean snake dies.
The photo is beautiful, but snakes was not, thank God, there is no in our landscapeus!
Greetings from germany
I'm not a fan of them for mice. I like a quick death instead of a slow terrified struggle. I'll have to admit though, that I've no experience with catching snakes! :-)

I wonder if they are those long sticky things we used to use to catch bugs and flies?
I never thought about suing them for scorpions...or snakes! :-)
Yep, friends are like that. :)
Have a fantastic weekend!
