Can A Yard Man Do His Job Too Well?

A while back I ran across a package of flowering vine seeds so I bought them to plant in a small area in the back yard where there is no grass and I had put a small trellis like thing just to have somewhere to put it. With all the rain I didn't actually plant them, I just sprinkled them to see if they would grow. If they come up, no problem. The yard man won't be weed eating or trimming where there is no grass. Oh yeah? I checked after the rains and there was two tiny little plants and I could tell they were vines kind of like morning glories. Great! I thought that will look pretty. Later I thought I should have told Joe I planted something in that spot. Today was a sunny day so I went to the back to check to see how much they had grown. Bare ground, no tiny plants. I never realized he trimmed so perfect. A few years ago I had a different very young man doing my yard work. He was so good when he had to move a yard ornament or something to mow or trim I swear he measured and put it back in the exact spot he found it in. I had just bought the house and realized I had a few bluebonnets scattered in my yard. I was so excited, I've tried everything to grow bluebonnets and never was successful. They were so pretty blooming and I just knew they would spread and I would finally have a yard full of bluebonnets. T.J. came and mowed and trimmed and put everything in it's exact place. Yep you guessed it he mowed my bluebonnets down to nothing and they never came back. I didn't even think I needed to tell him not to mow the bluebonnets. I guess I thought everyone in Texas knows not to mow the bluebonnets until they have gone to seed.

Can someone do TOO well? Seems so, SORRY.

Funny that, I do not know the names of the flowers but in our grand daughter's yard I have been mowing around some blue ones and some pink ones.

Sounds like something somebody around here would do. Sorry.

That is just so sad. I know because it happened to me too.

Well, Paula, they are male so they may have trouble understand the difference between a weed and a flower.

Most guys just don't quite get the idea when it comes to not mowing down your special flowers. It's so wet here we can't mow. I had my lawn guy mow around the bluebonnet patch the previous mowings. Now I'm sure they're spit their seeds and can be mowed. But who knows when it will be possible!
