Funny Stories

In the comments of my last entry Anni told a funny story about her Dad. I was reminded of what happened to Mel, my husband years ago. As I've said here before he was a Commercial Refrigeration Mechanic and made service calls all over San Antonio and all over south Texas. One day he was in his service truck making a call to a small town. On a country road he came to a curve in the road and spotted a casket beside a fence. When he told me about this I ask if he stopped to look inside. He said no, I drove as fast as I could to the nearest town to find the funeral home to see if they were missing a casket. They said they weren't but would call all the surrounding towns to see if they could find the owner.

Wow what a story. Hope the coffin was empty.

That's extremely weird. I wonder if they ever found out who owned it. I sure hope it was empty!

Really? The owner of the casket might be inside it! I wouldn't have stopped to open it either.....probably someone's idea of a spoof!

One day a couple of years ago I was in Nacogdoches running some errands and while I was driving down the street in one of the commercial areas sitting near the curb on an empty lot sat a casket with a for sale sign on it. The next time I went by it was gone so perhaps the seller got lucky!
