Medina Lake

Two years ago when we went to this lake it was almost just a mud puddle. After all the rain, complaining, and damage and some loss of lives this lake has water in it. We couldn't find a public access down to water's edge. The guard told us the lake filled so fast the businesses were not ready for it. We had a nice Sunday drive in the hill country. It's a blessing to see this much water in a lake where people were beginning to wonder if they would ever water ski or fish there again.

we had too many lakes up here that were spilling over. but it sure is nice to have the drought declared over after 4+ years!

This is such a welcome post! THANKS. We parked the RV on the lakes edge a couple years ago and had to walk a half mile to the water. It was so pitiful, there were hundreds of deer in the park lying in the shade and making it down to the water at nights. Just yesterday I tried to check on the lake via the net and did not get a distinct answer. one said it was now 11% full.
But having an up to date picture is great.
Of course our trip was not wasted, we got to meet you and Brother John!! :-)

As awful as the loss of lives has been, it is a blessing to have a wet, green earth. Life & Faith in Caneyhead

That lake looks beautiful. A shame Mother Nature had to rear her ugly side to give it back.

So glad to hear there is water in most of the lakes again. Some have too much water, but it will recede. And no more drought for the moment!

That is good to see. When we lived in San Antonio, we had friends that lived on Medina lake. They had a deck that was built over the water but even then the water had receded quite a bit away. This was probably around 2000. Take care, Sheila
