Wish I Could Have Stopped For Pictures.

We had more rain this morning, in fact all morning, so I took the day off and slept a good part of the day. Later this afternoon the sun came out so we drove up the highway just outside of town to see where the train that goes through here had derailed early this morning. We had heard the cars were empty, but later heard they were loaded with limestone heading to a plant outside the other side of town. What a mess! I had never realized what a derailment could entail. There were about as many large trucks to haul the remains off as there were derailed cars. The cars were bent like toys. I took John home and headed to Walmart to buy some groceries. Wasn't long I ran in to the first barricade and had to go back. My next choice there was a barricade too so I had to make a big circle to get to the highway to go to WalMart. The checker told me when the sun came out they were so busy. As I passed the park I could see it was closed and the river was out of bounds. I could see some of the ducks standing on the side looking with a look of puzzlement (my imagination) thinking where is my food?

Another derailment? WOW.
Puts a crimp in moving on the highways that cross, that is for sure.Lots of rain, huh? I hope it is doing the lakes good.

Sounds like a big mess for sure. Was anybody hurt in the derailment? I hope not. Guess it was difficult to clean up and navigate around.

What a dreary day that must be, a huge clean-up in the rain. De-railments seem to be happening all over the country.

wow! hadn't heard about a derailment in your area! terrible! i think our bridges, rail lines, interstates, etc. are all ready for some major troubles as they've not been maintained and repaired all these years.
