Did Pineapple Work?

We're not sure. John had his surgery and he is bruised a lot but it could have been worse. No way for us to know. They grafted a piece from one ear to under his eye to raise underneath his eye so it closes all the way at night. Luckily he didn't have much pain afterwards and only took a few pain pills . The antibiotic medicine did make him sick a few times because he wasn't eating a whole meal before, only a snack. After we got the hang of that there is no problem with that. Salve for the sutures easy to apply. He can't do anything for two weeks. If it had been me I think I would have worn an eye patch at night and kept it in a clean bag when not in use. At times he is thinking it wasn't a good idea and he may not see as well but he needs to wait until all the healing is done to make that decision.

Sorry about the stomach upset, some antibiotics do that. I hope he can keep it to the two weeks, but knowing men ... Hoping for a great outcome! Thanks for the re: on that.

Tell John we are thinking of him and hoping all will be well. And yeah, the waiting for the healing, swelling and bruising to go away ain't fun. Doing nothing for two weeks will be the hardest, methinks...

Hey, let's 'play like' the pineapple worked! ;-)

It's a relief that the surgery is over but it will take time to heal and yield positive results. I wish him all the best.

I hope John is feeling better soon, I know for him two weeks will seem like a long time.

Oh my I do hope everything turns out good for him. I know it must of been a hard decision to make but hopefully the worse part is behind him.
I read several post back to catch up with you because as you know I am a bad blogging buddy now. I do hope that changes but will see.
I did enjoy posting yesterday and reading sweet comments from my friends like you.
Thank you for remembering me after so long.
Take care honey.
Love
Maggie

Finally thought to do a search to understand about the surgery. I am hoping that given time he will see as well. I really would hate to think he sees worse after the surgery. Maybe if he can hang in there a bit longer, it will at least be back to what was normal before.

I'm sure after the complete healing it will be fine. Does he/has he had to wear corrective lenses before the grafting? Maybe, if not, he will have to have help with vision, but if that be the case, I'd think any improvement in closing the eye would be worth it.

Take care...both of you.

Hope your holiday weekend was a good one.

Oh my. Wishing for the best. I'm recovering from major shoulder surgery and my shortage of patience during the recovery/therapy period is NOT a virtue...;)

I am so happy that the surgery went well and that John is doing well! I'm thinking of both of you and send you lots of positive thoughts and healing vibes. I hope that it'll be all worth it once the healing is done. Lots of hugs for you,
Beate
