Down On The Ranch

We went to the ranch early to get things ready to work cattle in the morning. Normally he wouldn't do it on Sunday but on Monday. His son can help tomorrow. The Sheriff' Department and Border Patrol have been keeping a close eye out especially at night with shining lights into the ranch so no more fence cutting to steal animals. We are still looking for Kennth's cow with no luck. Kenneth's cow has that name because John bought her from his son named Kenneth. She was due to give birth so she may have had trouble and died or got out on the road. If they get out and the owner is not around the Sheriff's Department will drive her into any ranch they can. She is acow who has the personality not bring a new calf up to the herd for a longer period then most cows but the time is getting long. She is probably gone for good. By the picture you can see there is lots of room to hide.

It's such a shame that you have to worry about fence cutters and thieves. I hope they are caught. Also, I hope Kenneth's Cow will safely return.

One can hope Kenneth's cow is found unharmed. I wonder - does anyone use gps trackers on their cattle in areas like yours? Too expensive?

It would be a miracle for her to show with her calf. But as you say, the time is long and that is all part of ranching.

The photo looks like a desert....well, sure 'nough it is!!!

sorry about the cow loss.

I hope by some miracle she shows up...with calf. That country does not look like it would be easy to hunt for her.

We get s0 attached to our animals and then it's double hard when some
bad thing happens to them. Cows are such sweet bovine creatures with
all the sadness of the world written in their eyes. I always hope they are not suffering.

It is amazing to us neophytes the problems the rancher faces. I do hope Kenneth's cow shows up to laugh and say, 'Hide and seek' I won! ;-)
