Jack at "Shipslog" has a beautiful entry with pretty flowers today which made me think of something from the past. My late husband used to do repair work for a man who had a soda fountain in his house. His livelihood was raising Orchids. He grew them in a big metal building with water coolers. The humidity seem to be just what they needed. He grew all kinds. He didn't mind if Mel brought us along when he made a work call so we did go and the man gave us a tour then he turned a big cardboard box upside down and punched holes all over to stick the little glass vials in with an orchid in each one and gave them to us to do with what we wanted. It was the day before Easter the first time we went so we shared orchids with everyone we knew or come across. After that when Mel made a service call there he would do the same and send us orchids. It was a nice experience to have him tell us all about growing orchids and to look at all the different kinds.

Some people have all the luck. I don't recall ever seeing one up close and personal. The grower really knew his beans, didn't he?
sounds like a wonderful man.
This is the thing that amazed me These folks love those flowers like nothing else. That is a good story. Reality is many times just interesting. It also makes life a pleasure. Thanks
How nice of him to do that. And orchids....so so pretty. I've been told they're easy to grow...but I beg to differ. Not for me. lol
