Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.
This Way To My Blog

This is an old photo, probably last year but here in February it has two blooms that have about bloomed out. It has one bloom just starting. I wonder how many it will end up with this year. The plant was about a foot tall when I dug it up in a gateway where it didn't belong a few years ago and now it is very tall over my head. There are a lot of them on the east side of the ranch. I guess they grow there and not on other parts of the ranch because it was never plowed up for fields. They also grow west of the town of Charlotte, Texas on ranches. I like them so much but try to keep those sharp points nipped in the lower parts of the plant. They can really do some damage to a yard worker's face. I never water mine. The birds love to live in them and make a big fuss when I go around the plant, they think it belongs to them.

Wish they grew here, but have never noticed them. It probably gets too cold here in the winter. What do the flowers look like?
You can barely see the flower between the sharp limbs. They have a purplish look when they start out and then turn into a long egg shaped flower.
I think the creamy white candelabras are stunning!!!
The birds can fly in and out of that cactus amazingly, and we can't go near it or get stuck.
i see them at entryways here sometimes.
What plant is it? I thought at first it was the Yucca but now not so sure.
I don't think we have them here. It must be good to be around as it's low maintenance and attracts birds. :)
