Buzzards Waiting For Lunch

After John fed his cattle We felt the west calling us so we. Drove to Frio county. On one of the country roads we saw lots of buzzards standing around a cow in a field. John said she has a dead cal When I got out of the truck to take a picture most of the birds flew away but I could see the poor little dead calf with the mama looking puzzled.

I know it's all just a part of nature, but it's still extremely sad.

The buzzards clean up a lot of stuff we don't really want to. ;)

God bless that Mama cow. I remember how our horse, Blaze, grieved for her foal that was born stillborn. It was heartbreaking! She found her purpose in life again helping Emmy raise Stanley later on. Such a giant, sweet horse! She's the one little toddler Hannah Bug played beneath her legs!

How sad about the little calf. Buzzards are so greedy.

I hate to see buzzards, yet I know why they exist. Nevertheless, it always leaves a lump in my throat when the realization sets in.

That is sooo sad. I wonder if the Mama cow
had colostrum. Since I've been taking the
goat colostrum, I heard that a calf has to
have colostrum within 24 hours or it dies.
