I was a real country woman this morning, up and everything done before day light, ready to go feed the cows. It was almost cold. I was even ready for the owl in the grain tank. Ready to take a picture when John opened the door, but standing out of it's path. Guess what? No owl. However the resident buzzard was perched on top of a shed. No picture there either. Down the lane to the back forty we came upon five turkey toms drinking dirty water out of the creek. They were faster then I also. Seems the only thing slower then me is flowers these days. We saw a couple of Quail and then a few small birds came out of the grass to run ahead of us. I thought for sure it was baby quail but John says they were some other bird. He hasn't convinced me.

No owl today, what a shame. turkey and quail sounds interesting, though. Those pretty flowers are special indeed. love the color.
We even have turkeys walking across the streets in downtown Fredericksburg....pretty dangerous!
bright and sunny here - warms the cool mornings quickly. :)
We've been getting frost nearly every night and it's been ALMOST as windy as Texas.
I've been trying to take photos of the hawks, owls, and Cardinals here, but so far it has been an impossibility.
Yes, we've had downright chilly temps in the mornings here also. But warms up nicely by midday.
Too bad the birds don't cooperate with you and your camera. Quail...only once here, for pictures, but I hear them often when out walking near open fields.
Beautiful lavender wildflowers!!! What a treat.
You and I BOTH get up early to get our work done for the day. I love mornings.
If it is any consolation, I am slower than molasses, too.
Was nice and warm here yesterday - today is considerably cooler. Too bad about the owl ... and everything else. I do fair with the flowers. Yours are pretty!
It is a tad cool here this morning. But warms up nicely during the day for yard work. Your flowers are very pretty.
