Nice Morning At The Ranch

The weather is wonderful, not too cool and not too hot. Everything is green. Lots of thunder and lightening last night, but no more rain. When John opened the grain tank there was a beautiful owl flying around I don't know who startled whom the most. John had to step back from the door for it to fly out so it didn't hurt it's self flying into the walls. Guess it forgot it got in through an opening in the top. Hope it ate any mice in there. In riding around we came upon a cow that had just given birth. I took this picture of her then wel left for her to continue her job licking her new baby clean.

A precious moment!!!

Wishing I was there when the owl was. I'd love to have had an opportunity to photograph it.

That poor owl, glad it wasn't hurt. A new calf - John's cow? She sure looks fresh!

Nature is wonderful in its mysteries. Each species takes care of its own. Love it!

Sometimes in the evening I'll hear a hoot owl when I step out the back door. So, I'll sit on the step and hoot back at it. And it will answer me. I'll do that several times before I go in.

Baby calves are awesome sweet!

I think both our heifers are bred, finally. I had the one checked last December and she should be due in June/July. The other one needs to get checked but fingers crossed she caught too this last time they went on walk about...Fence guys are coming next week to put up a new fence and cross fence for us...I can't wait.
