Bless Hazel's Heart

Hazel will be cleaning my kitchen floor today. No, I haven't hired a cleaning lady. I have her plugged in to an electric outlet and when we get back from the ranch her little light will be blue instead of red and she will be ready to clean. For a woman who lived in days of outhouses instead of bathrooms and heating water on the stove she is a miracle. My daughter Leah loaned her to me and I'm liking her. You may have seen the vacuums that run themselves or know someone who has one, or seen the ad with a cat riding one while it cleans the floor. I never wanted one and didn't even know  they made the one that mops the floor. I can sit in the recliner and prop my feet up while she works. I'll move the dining chairs and mats out, put a wet swifter across her body. Turn she and her GPS on and look out Gator Aid spots in front of the fridge. Isn't it amazing the inventions we have now? I never wanted a Microwave Oven but Mel did. When the business where he worked started selling appliances he got a good discount on a good Microwave. One you could really cook in, not the little kind I have now to mostly warm things in. It cooked rice so good and then I could add some canned tomatoes, onions, and bell pepper to make Spanish rice. Nice and fluffy and taste good. When some men broke into our house in 1985 after it had snowed the last real snow we have had they relieved us of that nice appliance. Anyway I'm so amazed sometime I just stand and watch her work instead of propping my legs up and resting.

It works that well? I was looking at those. I have a Roomba and love it, BUT, it gets hung up in my cords and I find myself babysitting it to keep it out of trouble. DH promised me he would fix the cord problem ... promises, promises ...

Hey when Hazel gets done there can I borrow her? Sounds like just the ticket to get that bothersome floor mopped. ENJOY your leisure hour.

Well, I get the Hazel reference! Kudos to your daughter for giving you an industrious little helper. I want one for the pool.

(I got the Hazel reference, too)
I could sure use an appliance like that - especially with my bad back.
I initially never wanted a microwave, either, but they sure come in handy instead of always having to use a conventional oven.

I think I could like Hazel. Good on you. It is hard for some of us 'older folk',,,, to adjust to modern 'stuff'.
