A Good Book By Jack Darnell

Almost finished reading it , but wish it was longer. Jack is a friend and fellow blogger. This was his wife Sherry's wish to hike The Appalachian Trail. I had never thought much about hiking a hike like that. The closest thing to that for me was a few hour hike at Lost Maples in the hill country. We didn't even take food and water. Takes a lot of planning to make a hike like this. Read the book to learn about trail angels and the funny nick names the hikers use.

Given a different lifeline, I may have enjoyed a solitary hike alone in mountains, well prepared, of course.

If memory recalls, Sharyn McCrumb wrote in one of her novels about a poor soul trying to hike the Appalachian who wasn't well equipped to do so and got into a lot of trouble and ended up needing to be rescued by the old lady who sees ghosts. Sounds like something that needs a great deal of planning.
