Famous Last Words

No more cats, no more pets of any kind. That's what I said. It took a lot of time and energy to care for Susie in her last days. I've always had a cat or cats or cats and dogs but I'm not able to give them the care they deserve now. Of course being the saver or tight wad or what ever you want to call it I throw my scraps in the back yard for what ever finds them, but no certain time of day or night. A female cat started making the rounds. Probably from our neighbor who has lots of cats. John never was one for pets, just cows to make money from and not ever ever get attached to. Mr. John has time on his hands now so he took notice of the female cat hanging around and started feeding her. I informed him this cat will have kittens sooner or later and they will have kittens sooner or later and first thing you know you have a cat farm. Did he listen? She gave birth to four some time ago. That makes five at the back door. Kids liked them so I told them they could have one or two. They took one. One was killed in the street, one went missing and one stayed at the back door. Guess what her name is? Princess.

I was always told that if you feed it - it's yours. Congratulations, John, you now have a cat. Hee. Hee.

I'll never forget the nightmare I went through when I lived in TX and my neighbor moved and abandoned twelve cats. I started feeding them and soon wound up with over twenty.....but you've already heard that story.

I love cats and still have my three house cats - - but caring for them is a lot of trouble. If you keep the female cat I hope you can have her fixed (even though it costs $$$).

There is a built in radar in strays heads that points to Paula's house. It says make it there and look sweet and you win the lottery.

Funny about the scraps, I try to do the same thing, but our squirrels and what ever makes it by at night takes care of it here.

Cats are good....for companionship, for the rat/mouse population control...I can never say "no" to cats.

Oh, I have sworn no more after the ones we have now are gone. But I know it will be hard to hold the line.

When I had my home my neighbor loved cats so much she used to catch the strays & have them fixed. And she was frugal with a capital CHEAP, but she didn't want all those babies running around uncared for. I've always admired what she did. Add to that, she had about 8 cats of her own...
