Jumping For Joy

Blogsville didn't get excited over our new to us sofa and they probably won't be either over my health report . However I am, but I'm kind of afraid to get too happy, as I've been disappointed before. My blood platelets went from 13 as in 13,000 to 69. The Doctor thinks I was over medicated so when I start the treatments over two days after Christmas it will be five days in a row on a lower dose. MDS is a strange blood disease and I think my body is even reacting different then some who have it. I have felt well once I was able to deal with one side effect which I rather not mention here. One of the medications I took, which didn't work for me did make my fingernails grow. I've never in my life been able to grow long pretty nails. Now that I'm off it my nails are back to broken and ugly, but I can deal with that. Maybe most of you know healthy people have a count of maybe 200 or 300 as in 300,000. The doctor would like for mine to be at least 150 but 71 is as high as he has been able to get them. It is hard to explain since I didn't know anything about platelets before and still don't know a lot. I do research it and just get more confused or maybe in denial.

I think it is normal to 'not get your hopes up' when other times you have been disappointed. BUT this time me and the rest of the bloggers will get our hopes up for you. (Along with a few prayers).
Strange isn't it, that we walk around with 300,000 plates full and don't even know it. LOL
Wishing you the best sweet lady Life is good. You are an amazing lady.

BTW concerning your comment on the Shipslog of the electronics in autos. Like Mel I about had to quit playing with cars after they showed up. I have to stick with changing oil etc.

I, too, am jumping with you. That IS good news, isn't it? Not perfect maybe, but that is quite a jump! What a nice Christmas gift - thank you!
Hugs!

Jumping for joy....oh my gosh, I am ecstatic with this good report!!! I know what it's like to work with the physician/specialists and adjusting medications 'cause one specific one will be too much or too little! And the doctors don't know -they're going by your history and their averages on others- until the right dosage works.

Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping and praying that this will continue to improve and you will be able to 'live' again.

First of all, Paula, YOU are a farm chick. I am so happy about the 69. Heck, I got excited over the Santa poem; it was that good. But this is wonderful!
