Hello Cows

Finally got to the ranch after weeks and weeks. The cows were so happy to see us. Yeah right! They were hoping for feed and we didn't have a thing. They are still so tame I can walk among them and near the bull. John's son takes care of them and the times that John goes with him they go in a Ford Ranger so no room for me. We didn't get to drive all over because we didn't want to scratch John's good truck in the small lanes. The gate was closed to where the big stock tank is and it was getting too hot to walk far anyway so didn't get to see the turtles if they are still there. We talked to the young couple who live out there now, the grandson to the owner. The farm house is going to be so nice. Instead of an ugly green, it will be beige and they made a bedroom in the garage and installed nice windows. There is still construction on the Farm To Market road but it is easier to get in and out of the ranch now. It too will be nice when finished.

It's nice that you got out. Maybe the cows really were happy to see you. :)

Glad you got out. Just today we were in cattle country here in Florida. I saw a field where the cows and calves are segregated to. I thought how cute as they were walking, each mama tagged by her calf. I asked Sherry "Wonder how mama knows to kick the calf of the teat when it is time to ween and start eating big cow stuff?"

I said I bet Paula knows She talks to them all the time.

We think of you guys often. Love from Florida. and Hope YOU are doing well.

Jack I think cows are really a lot smarter then people give them credit for. They seem to just know what to do.

That's sweet the cows missed you. Wonder how the turtles are??? Too bad you couldn't see them too. Sounds like the house is nice.

I am embarrassed & humbled by the fact that I was thinking of prime rib earlier. . . but just now I was thinking about how beautiful cows can be, THEN read your comment about how smart they are.
