And The Wedding Goes On

The bride wanted an outside wedding at the Angel Springs Event Center. It almost happened, the outside wedding I mean. The guest were seated facing the trees. The wedding party lined up on the rock porch. The grandmother of the groom (me) was to be escorted first and the grandmothers of the bride second with the parents and then the wedding party. As the music started so did the rain and the thunder. The guests rushed to the porch for protection. Tables were quickly pushed to the side and an alter of sorts arranged in the nice large building. The wedding went on without a hitch. Not the stiff ceremony of weddings in the past. A little laughing by the couple and the guests, everything was good. The reception was the usual cake cutting and toasting. Then the music and fun began.  Loud music and fast dancing. The young people loved it with we oldsters watching and dancing a few slow ones when they threw them in. Our family stayed on the property for the night in cabins. The word cabin doesn't do them justice. They were made of cedar with that aroma and a tin roof for the rain to make that relaxing sound. Central heat and air, snacks and drinks in the fridge. A shower from the ceiling and a Jacuzie (sp) tub. Decorated in a country style with big windows with a nice view. Now I'm home and back to the normal routine wishing Cody and Jessica many years of happy wedded bliss.

In life, it is the unexpected that holds the fondest memories. They will remember that day, not only for the wedding but for the 'DIFFERENCE'.

Glad it ended well. You gotta love tin roof in the rain!
Love from Florida!!!

I think I agree with Jack - it will be memories that they will always remember!

how very sweet. they could roll with the punches (and weather) on their day - that sets a good precedent for the marriage. :)

Glad the weather did not deter them from the ceremony. Sounds like a lovely time. Glad you got to enjoy it, rain or shine.

I think the unexpected rain added a nice touch to the wedding and provided an extra special memory.
The cabin sounds like it was nice and cozy.

I agree with Jon, I would view it as a gift from the heavens :)

What memories of such a special day. The jacuzzi sounds so good...a sip of champagne, a cedar lined cabin and a fun filled day topped off with a relaxing evening as the rain falls. That's living.

A beautiful couple, it sounds like a great place to have a wedding and stay over night cabins.
