Exciting News

I had some exciting news yesterday. My oldest granddaughter is going to spend five weeks in Prague next summer along with one of her room mates and four other young people that she knows. I don't know all the details but it is through the University where they all are students. They will attend school Monday through Thursday until 1:00 P.M. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday they may travel or do as they desire. We are all so happy she has this opportunity but can't help but worry for her to be so far away. She is a bright girl and is of age so hopefully things will go well for her and the other students. The only drawback she won't be home for her younger sister's high school graduation.

Kids now-a-days, have opportunities we didn't have growing up. I remember when I was about 12, my Dad was flying to Dallas to visit with friends of ours. He said I could go, but Mother wouldn't hear of it. I pouted for days. I guess she was fearful either Daddy wouldn't be able to take care of me, or the plane would crash? We've come a long way in the last 30 years.

What a fantastic opportunity for her, that is awesome and something she'll probably always remember. I'm sure her sister will understand why she can't attend her graduation.
