Where Is My Red Bicycle?

I was feeling bad this afternoon when I took a nap. I was dreaming my daughter and I had left my new red bicycle at Joske's Of Texas and we were begging John to take us there in his truck and park by the curb while we ran in to see if it was still there. He didn't want to drive us there so I woke up without knowing if my new red bicycle was there or not.. I had a birthday about a month before Mel died and he had bought me a new red bicycle. I had been riding a very old one. He put nice hooks in the top of the garage to hang it on. I was strong at that time and could raise my arms up to lift it past the hooks and bring it down. I didn't ride it right away because I was ill at the time and then when he passed away I wasn't thinking of riding a bicycle or much else. When I did go out to get it down and ride it was gone. Then I remembered coming home to find the garage door ajar but thought I had accidently left it open. Now I have another old red bicycle I bought for $12.00 or $15.00 from a man on a San Antonio corner selling fruits and vegetables and one bicycle. I told him I would buy it if he could get it into the trunk of my Ford Fairlane Sports Coupe which I had then. He did and I still have that old bicycle and ride is once in a while. I wonder who has my pretty red bicycle now and why did I dream about it now?

Mine was maroon, my dad bought it at a police auction for $500. It was my first, during the 70's when their was the gas shortage. It had a small tank so I was always filling it up of course only on odd or even days.

Fun memories!

I hope somebody got some enjoyment out of your red bike. It is strange what we dream of sometimes.

We can have some of the oddest dreams at times. I'm sure Mel is on your mind quite often and that red bicycle marked a live changing event when Mel died.

I hope you enjoy your Sunday. *M*

I remember Joske's in downtown San Antonio. I loved that store! Too bad it and your bike are long gone. Glad you got another though.

Happy Holidays!

Hi Paula...it seems at this time of the year our thoughts turn more to loved ones who are no longer with us..and we put them aside for those who are still with us...so I think that is where your dream came from...and sorry your bike was taken...someone must have been desparate to do that...??? and glad you got another one...my bike riding days are over..but when I could I sure enjoyed it..and just so you know...it is 33 degrees here with wind chill of 9....and the sun is shining very brightly...but it is a deceiving old thing!!!! LOLOL...Merry Christmas..hugs..Ora

You might check with Jack he has a bike but
not sure of the color. I wonder if the boys on my street have it, two red bikes went up
the road the other day. I hope who ever got
the bike falls off and skins their knees. I know that sounds tacky but they need to be
punished. If I find it I will send it UPS.

There must have been some reason you thought of that red bicycle. What a shame it was stolen ~ people are just nasty!

I used to have great dreams when I was young, but lately there's always some insane twist that makes me happy it was a dream.

The mind takes bits and pieces of your conscious and unconscious thoughts and writes it's own little story. My mind will never receive the Nobel Prize for literature.

Oh Lawd. I a-woke this AM, in the middle of a most deliciously naughty dream (a man thing), without any physical need synonymous with one of us oldster's bladder needs. I swear every once in awhile you're as evil as my What's Her Name. Now I've got to write it. Humbug! LMHO

This is an interesting dream. Watch for something to materialize that will explain why you had it, or maybe it is just missing Mel at Christmas. Pierre, my last companion, even paid me a call from the other world. He was a great Christmas guy. He decorated this place at Christmas like it had never been decorated before, even in its heyday as a resort hotel. Unbelievable! You reminded me. I am going to look for a picture! Doc is okay with Pierre's visit. He made a lot of jokes about it. Gerry

That's terrible that someone stole your bike!!! I hope they have a quilty conscience and bring it back to you.

Dreams are strange....If you figure out why you dreamed about it let us know. Was there someone in your dream that you've forgotten about that maybe could have taken it?

Yes aren't our dreams interesting sometimes.... my hubby gave me a purple bicycle too and it was a wonderful gift... something I have always wanted since my parents divorced and mom left my bike on the farm with my dad. I was delighted to discover I could still ride a bike after ten years or more not owning one. Wishing you a Merry Christmas from Kentucky if I do not get back over here before then. Hugs,
Lisa

Hi Paula! Sorry I haven't been around lately - it's been a super busy time for me and I just came down with what I think might be the flu. I wanted to be sure to stop by to wish you a Merry Christmas! Love and hugs! :-)
