Guess Where We Went Today

John has been wanting to take Ole' Blue out on the road. He really wanted to go about 150 miles to Eagle Pass, Texas to a casino. I wasn't sure of riding that far with my back not back to normal but I was saved by the bell, I mean the donkey people. We ran in to them again and we all had so much to talk about. I told them I was sorry I don't remember their name so I call them the donkey people. The Mr. said thats okay I've been called worse. I said oh I love donkeys so it is a compliment. In chatting we found they used to dance as we did and their health isn't what it used to be as our's isn't either. We went to the same dance halls, we know a lot of the same people both there and here in our town. Well today is Wednesday and that is one of their days to go to Whataburger and they were there. We finally got on the road going kind of south west. The sun was beautiful but the land is dry and the foliage is gray. We went to Los Angelos. Yes there is a Los Angelos, Texas. We didn't see any movie stars, we saw three old buildings at an intersection. I had read about an Elvis Presley museum of sorts at a hispanic man's house who was a big fan of his. I was thinking it was at Los Angelos but we didn't see anything like that so I must have been mistaken. Wish I had paid more attention to the location. We didn't see a lot except cactus on big ranches. On one road a buck ran out and ran in the bar ditch along side us. Seeming to want to race us but of course he was looking for a good place to jump the fence. On another road we saw an octagonal house. We had one of our funny conversations about that. John is hard of hearing and he always thinks I say something that rhymes with what I really said. He said that isn't an oxygen house. Oh well guess you would have had to been there. On the way home I wanted to stop at the Big Foot cemetary at Big Foot, Texas. Would you believe they had moved the cemetary? John said no that would have caused all kinds of red tape. Well it wasn't where I remembered it to be so we came home where old coggers belong.

Hey, I've spent some nights in Eagle Pass. Two different years I went on a missions trip to Mexico with some Baptists. We'd drive over to Mexico each morning and come back to Eagle Pass to sleep.

lol Too funny about the oxygen house. Nice that you had someone to visit with. Sounds kind of like our Bud and Hazel. We have a good time visiting. Have a good day tomorrow. Janie

isn't it a small world, meeting people who you used to possibly hang out with. there is a reason they waved at you. hope you become close friends.

I am late, but I do like the framed picture. Well you could be a red neck, who knows now? Glad you found something in common with the donkey people, that is always nice. I love to run into folks that we have things in common with. It even happens to us once in a while here in Florida. One in Tucson we met a lady who had a sister who lived five miles from us in NC, and we knew her pretty well.
I hope you can find a toilet to plant a flower in, then you would be right up there.
Love the last two entries,
Jack

Sounds like you had a good time again. You seem to have so much fun and looks like you've met some new friends with the "Donkey People".

Pretty cool, I love meeting new people! Whats a whataburger? Lol You guys get top see some major wildlife action out there, I love it!
They moved a cemetery There is something that just seems wrong about moving whatever remains there are of a dead body even if it is just to another location. Lol. Well anyway, thanks 4 all of your comments, take care.

I know I would like the donkey people. We had
an oxygen (ha) building at my old place in
Charlotte that housed a 1950 convertable Studebaker. The drive sounds relaxing and
beautiful.

I sure hope they didn't move it, and John is right about the red tape(and I'll add lawsuits), but very strange...I mean if you didn't actually see it there?

sounds like a whole lot of fun. why do our man always go deaf?? or are they just ignoring us??

There is an oxigen house close to Shirl now, but it is behind a lot of trees. I forgot about the one she had, with a Studebaker in it.
Nah, got nothing against Lipstick unless some sucker puts the wrong color on my collar and shows it to Sherry.
I am sure John is not as hard of hearing as I, It does cause a lot of problems.

You two seem to keep the road hot for old coggers. I get comfort out of riding the bus and speculating about the lives of the travelers. I often see the same ones so I add a little more to my picture of them. I don't know what I would do without the bus, and I don't know what you guys would do about those picturesque country roads, always seeing life of some sort including a new born calf or a deer running beside you for a spell.

I know what you mean by those funny conversations...we have an elderly couple we know who it happens with and you can't help but laugh.

I would like to see the mans Elvis museum,, I bet that is something else! ;0
