The Proverbial Needle In A Haystack

We skipped church this morning but for a good reason. Not that just going to church will save anyone. I love to go to our little historical country church but today we had other fish to fry. A man who drove tractor for John years back is in the hospital with colon cancer. They were giving a barbeque benifit for him at the fire dept. in John's home town. His wife called a few days ago to ask us to come so we did. The small town had turned out for their own. After we took plates to his daughter and her mother we went to the ranch to fill the house water tank with water for the renters. After that we went over to the hay ground to look for John's pocket knife. He remembered using it to cut the string off the hay. It would have been a miracle to find it in all that tromped down hay but I tried. The wind has been blowing again all day drying out everything more and more. My hair was in my eyes and my eyes were tearing from the hard wind until I could hardly see but I was determined to find his pocket knife. We finally left empty handed. As soon as we got home I went straight to the bedroom and beside the bed on the table by the phone covered with a handerchief and there was his knife. I always claim to have this little talent of finding lost articles. Well I did find the knife just not in the hay.

I hope the man with colon cancer gets better soon. Shame that you could not have found that knife before looking for it in the hay with all that wind blowing. I like the picture at the top of your blog. Helen

I hope you didn't throw it at John when you found it...ha. It is very hard to find a knife in a haystack when it is lying on a bedside table...ha. Prayers for your friend. Have a great day, Sheila

It wasn't going to be easy, but I bet John is glad that you have psychic powers, so he doesn't have to fret anyomore, or maybe it is just common sense about how to look for stuff!
